Kunlun Tech announced its plans to integrate ChatGPT into its Opera browser in various ways. First and foremost, the company noted that it will leverage generative AI content to allow users to create text, images, and even audio from user prompts directly into its browser on both PC and mobile devices. This is a large value-add for the browser that brings it more in-line with the direction of modern browsers such as Microsoft’s new ‘Edge’ build.
Aside from this use case of generative AI, though, the company noted that it is aiming for something more similar to Microsoft’s new Bing AI, noting that Opera will feature a ‘Summarize’ button on any webpage. This button will then use ChatGPT’s language learning model to fully understand the webpage and provide a direct summary, offering the reader a shortened version that, ideally, does not leave out any important details.
Opera did not offer an exact release date for this feature, but it did note that it has been working on similar AI-powered features and solutions for over ten years.
